The Gender Public Advocacy Coalition is pleased to announce the release of its 2008 GENIUS Survey in partnership with Ernst & Young. GenderPAC works to ensure that classrooms, communities and workplaces are safe for everyone to learn, grow and succeed.

The Gender Equality National Index for Universities & Schools (GENIUS), GenderPAC’s most recent effort to end discrimination and promote awareness, encourages colleges and universities to recognize the benefits of a GenderSAFEtm campus - supportive equitable and protective for all students. Choosing to participate in GENUIS sends a strong public statement that bullying or discriminating based on the race, sex or gender of a student, faculty, or staff member is not tolerated at your institution

Fill out the survey at: www.gpac.org/GENIUS2008survey, and make sure that we have data for as many schools as possible. Your voice will help us continue to work towards a safe and welcoming environment for every student.

*While we greatly appreciate the interest taken in GENIUS by students, staff, and faculty at academic institutions outside of the United States, at this time GENIUS is only able to track schools based in the U.S.

PLease help me out here

Mini Survey

I’m doing a mini-project comparing attitudes about death in various groups with particular stressors on their lives (including emergency medical staff, queer people and people with a family history of depression) and I’m hoping that some of you would help me out by answering a few questions.

If you would like to leave a few comments a well, and include your name and age I may quote you in my write-up, but this is optional.

As well, feel free to answer anonymously.

Im new. So here's the deal...

I am taking a year off school so that I can save some money for college. I originally thought that I wanted my major to be interior design. However, Im also interested in psychology and sociology. I took a psych class my senior year and I loved it. However, I didnt get a good grade in that class because my teacher wasnt a very good one. She liked to make every thing based on tests alone and she liked to tell a lot of stories instead of trying to reinforce materiel. So which major should I pick and why?
*Note: Please dont post something about how you think Im not going to college because of stats or whatever. I need support not people being jerks without knowing me.
Thanks for all your help!

Hey, I just wanted to say 'hi' to everyone. It's been awhile since I (or anyone else for that matter) has posted.
I'm glad the weekend is here...it's been a long week. Mid-terms & such...but I did get an A- on my Lit paper which I originally thought totally sucked!
Been busy shooting lots of films (w/ others in my classes). Oh the joys of being a film major...shooting 10 hour days.
So that's my little update...oh yeah, I've finally made friends, lol.

Hello

I'm new here, and I'm also new to college.

I'm 20 and I started my first semester of college in August at a local JC.

I have three classes this semester (only 9 units because I also work pretty close to full time) and only one of them I have tests and such in. The other is a writing class, so I just have to write for it. And the other is a PE Theory class.

I had my first test in my broadcasting class, and I got an A. I have my midterm next week and I also expect to get an A.

College is okay, my classes aren't so bad. And I like the courses I'm taking for my major (journalism).

I just wanted to say "Hey" and all that, and I'll be posting more in the future.

he's coming home friday... i'm so excited and stuff that i keep bouncing everywhere!!! eee!!!!

-bounce bounce bounce-

but ya know what? there will be little time to spend with him scince, well, his mom's wicked overbearing. but, somehow we'll manage ^_~

also- update on major and colleges-

i'd like to do computer engineering instead because i get the right amount of pay for my work. i mean, being a nurse is cool and all, but you get paid shit with a shitty union for everything you do, and by no means they do jack... they go above and beyond what is expected of them, and i admire them for that.

but back on topic. so, if at all possible, if i could incorperate it somehow, i'd have a comp engineering/ comp admin/ health admin. where i would go for that is up in the air, but Carnige (sp?) Mellon is out because i can't spell it and i'm not that smart. i know Wocster (sp?) Poly-Tech would have it, and i know UPenn (upenn is evil because of something that is for another post... or you could comment and ask me about it), and possibly Lehigh University. i might nix Lehigh though because that's where my boyfriend Jason is studying, and will be for the next 3.75 school years. i need more suggestions ;_;

i know i'm pitiful... you don't have to tell me.

but anyways, i'd go for just the comp engineering degree. i'd really be cool with that. possibly programming on the side? i know Lehigh, Carnige (sp?) Mellon, UPenn and WPT has it... i'd just like some more options... but i don't want them to be too far away from home... and it has to be fun too. anyways, enough rambling. it's time to get the show on the road.

i want to be in college right now so bad...

Okay. I currently go to Hampshire College, a small, progressive liberal arts college in MA with no tests, no grades, and no majors.

I have discovered that not only do I have a real problem with the lack of structure at this school, but that this school also lacks good programs(or programs of any kind) in the areas I'm interested in - namely graphic design/fine arts and asian studies.

I really want to move back to Texas, and I'm looking at Southern Methodist University, Texas Christian University, and University of Texas at Dallas. Can anybody give a more personal opinion on any of these schools than what I can glean from the websites?

Update: University of North Texas and Austin College are also ones I'm looking at.

i want out of high school...

i need to find the top 10 nursing schools in the new england area, and in Pennsylvaina (i don't care if it's spelled wrong... i'm too tired to go look it up) because i want to know what stuff will be like and yeah... i want to go to college already! i'm sick of high school. the farthest i will go is PA... that's a 4 hour drive.... heh, make that a 300 mile radius then. i want to be able to come home every other month but stull live at a dorm... i don't want to live at home. i want the dorm life, and i want the mental health nursing degree. now i just gotta find the school... and google isn't exactly working the way i'd like. guidance better hurry up with that college stuff... i need to know now!! i'm too damn antsy, i think. but i'd still like to read up on the top ten. for once, the web isn't helping me much.

i need help ;_;

Home

I'm looking for a home... trying to move out of my parents' (finally) and closer to school. I finally found a place today and I was so excited, but the girl I was supposed to room with doesn't want to live there (she hasn't even seen it yet) because it's too far from her daughter's daycare. argh! I need to move out NOW! Maybe it's time to try it on my own...
